Summer Camp FAQ

What ages are summer camp for?

We offer camp experiences for a variety of age groups:

  • Muddy Buddies: Ages 7–11

  • Clay Crafters: Ages 7–15

  • Pottery Pros: Ages 12–15

Each program is designed to match the skill level, attention span, and creative interests of the age group.

Does my child need pottery experience?

Not at all! Most campers are beginners. Our instructors guide students step-by-step through projects while still encouraging creativity and personal expression.

What is the student-to-teacher ratio?

We keep class sizes small to provide individualized instruction and support. Our typical teacher ratio is approximately 1 instructor for every 4 students.

Are materials included?

Yes — all clay, tools, glazing materials, and firing costs are included in camp tuition.

Can my child attend multiple weeks?

Absolutely! Many campers attend multiple weeks throughout the summer. Projects and themes vary, allowing returning students to continue developing their skills and creativity.

Can siblings attend together?

Yes. Depending on ages, siblings may be placed in the same or different camp sessions that best fit their experience and developmental level.

Do you offer single-day camps?

Yes! Depending on availability, families may register for:

  • Full semester enrollment

  • Weekly camps

  • Single-day drop-ins

What is your cancellation policy?

We allow cancellations before 14 days of the start date. Within the 14 days prior to camp, store credit can be given. Within 48 hours, there are no refunds for cancellation.

What kinds of projects will campers make?

Campers explore a variety of clay and art techniques throughout the week. Projects may include:

  • Pottery wheel projects

  • Handbuilt ceramics

  • Sculptures

  • Functional pottery

  • Surface decoration and glazing

  • Mixed-media art projects

Every week is a little different to keep things fresh and creative.

Will projects be fired and finished?

Yes! Ceramic projects are professionally kiln-fired and glazed at the studio. Finished work will be ready for pickup after firing is complete.

What should campers wear?

Clay can get messy, so we recommend:

  • Comfortable clothes that can get dirty

  • Closed-toe shoes

  • Hair tied back for longer hair

Aprons are optional.

What happens during drop-off and pick-up?

Parents or guardians must sign campers in and out each day. Additional pickup authorization can be arranged ahead of time if needed.

Is food provided?

Food is not provided. Campers should bring:

  • A water bottle

  • Nut-free snacks as needed

Full-day campers should also bring lunch.

How messy is pottery camp?

Very — in the best way possible. Campers work with real clay, glazes, and art materials in a hands-on creative environment.
