Diya for Diwali

This is a one-time class taking place Sunday afternoon, 10/5, from 1:00-2:30 PM.

Celebrate the Festival of Lights by creating your own handmade Diya! A Diya is a traditional oil lamp, used during Diwali to bring warmth, joy, and light into the home while symbolically warding off negativity.

In this special workshop, you’ll hand-build, decorate, and design your very own clay Diya. Our instructor will guide you step-by-step through shaping, adding decorative patterns, and incorporating textures and colors. You’ll have access to plenty of tools and design options to make your Diya as traditional or creative as you like.

After class, we’ll glaze and fire your piece so it’s ready for your Diwali celebrations, or to give as a meaningful handmade gift.
